Just got finished ordering my FZ-190 w/ Blu-Ray goodness.

I do want to upgrade via myself.
Will this ram or this ram work? I've also never heard of that company is it good? (Want a 2gb stick)

Which is a better hard drive to get? Seagate or Hitachi or Other Hitachi Will they both work? (I want 160+gb 7200rpm) I think one is SATA 150 and the other is SATA 300.

For vista, can I just get the OEM system builders version from NewEgg or do I need to get the retail version?

    Thanks.

I'd go with the first RAM you listed. The 800mhz would just get scaled back to pc 5400 speeds anyway. (Right?) OCZ is up there for RAM, though it's debatable whether they're in the same category as Corsair, Crucial, etc for reliability.

I would recommend Seagate drives over any others, though I believe installs of the Seagate and the first Hitachi have actually been done successfully by FZ owners on this forum. I'd like to point out, though, that the first Hitachi is an OEM drive, which means that it might (probably will) have a much shorter warranty (30-90 days is standard for OEM parts) and not come with Seagates drive utilities for partitioning+diagnostics.

For Vista, I would recommend getting the OEM version, because the only real restriction is that you can't migrate it to another system...not much of an issue, in my opinion.

I agree with ATP, get the pc5400 (667mhz) ram as the chipset doesn't use 800mhz ram. I opted with the Seaget Momentus 160gb 7200.2 hard drive.
The hard drive is excellent - quick performance, quiet, and cool. It also comes with a 5 year warranty. I decided to stick with the one that comes with the notebook as it comes with the drivers/recovery utilities.

Well, the Hitachi has 16mb of buffer memory but only have a transfer rate of 1500mb/s. The Seagate has 8mb of buffer memory but has a transfer rate of 3000 mb/s. Which would give me better performance?

Isn't the new Intel santa rosa chipset supposed t work at 800 MHz, if that's the case then is it better to get 800 MHz RAM over 667 MHZ?
