The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    FZ after the downgrade...missing a couple things

    Hello all!
    thanks for your help so far!

    I have succeeded fairly well in downgrading to XP but I have just a few more minor bumps to overcome. Hopefully you may be able to help me. I have tried searching the forums first but I haven't had any luck. Here we go.

    1. I can't get an XP copy of Sony Utilities so I can have the basic things like use of the Fn keys.
    2. I can't get the camera working. i have successfully extracted the files from the Vista installer, but I have no clue how to install the drivers. I tried looking in the device manager but couldn't find any trace of the camera.
    3. AV buttons. they don't work. I haven't found any evidence that they actually do, but I am really hoping someone may have a clue. They're semi-useless but it would be nice if they were usable. :)
