Get a compressed air can, and spray that bad boy. It'll be dust free.

Or a vacuum cleaner to suck the dust.

WD-40 should not be used on computer components.

Don't know about Sony keyboards in particular, but on most keyboards the keycaps just snap on. There are tiny plastic clips under the caps which could break if you're too rough on them, though, so be gentle. If you break a clip, it won't be the end of the world, you can probably find a replacement on ebay for a few dollars.

OK, I'm using an SZ but I had a key get popped off awhile ago (F6)...I don't know if it's supposed to be popped off but it has a kind of a track mount underneath that slides in grooves when the key is pressed and released. Only problem that I have is that it folds up flat, so it's a pain to try to get it back installed...

Anyone else have this problem, or know a trick on clipping them back in? Thanks...

NTXRockr, on the underside of the keycap, you should see one side has grooves for the mounting clips to slide in, and on the other side will be clips to snap onto the mounting clips. While holding up the mounting clips with your finger, get the groove side of the keycap onto the clips, then let the assembly down and press straight down on the keycap until the clips on the other side snap in.

    Thanks jimbob83...

Well, I've been able to reattach the key but it seems that part of the rubber/silicone spacer underneath the key has been torn off, so now it falls flat and renders the key unusable.....so, if I keep the key off for the time being I can still press the solenoid switch underneath and use the F6 (brightness function, kinda important to me).

My question now is will I have to send it in to have it repaired (I bought it from P1 so I know they'll take care of me, but I need it for class and finals and can't deal with it gone for two weeks) or can a SonyStyle store do a repair in house?

It's a really annoying problem...for just a little key, why didn't they make it as simple as a Dell or other snap-on type keyboard? Thanks guys.
