Does anybody have a FZ with a "polished mosaic" keyboard instead of white or black? I see this as an option when you configure the FZ's on www.sonystyle.com, but it doesn't seem to be popular at all. I would like to see some pictures. :D

Unfortunately this option wasn't available when I ordered which was about a month ago. I think it'd look nice though.

Yea I guess so, but it's referred to as Polished Mosaic on sonystyle.com.

They provide one picture of a close up shot but I can't find any other pictures of an FZ with this keyboard.

    Bump! :)

Can anybody confirm that it's really discontinued?
They STILL have the option on the site. And I still want to see some more pictures of it haha.

Me too. I want to know if it's glossy like an HP. glossy = sticky = bad.

    Bump
So I finally made it out to the store and after looking at the black, I like it. Anyone with polished mosaic? I might change my FZ4000 preorder to black this week. Anyone with some time on their black keyboard? How is the wear factor?

Polished Mosaic was pretty popular in this poll:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=2910719&highlight=polished#post2910719

However, RiceAddictBoy said that he was told that it was not durable.

If it is the same as "Snake Skin", the name of a finish available on the FZ290 in Canada, (the file name of the "Polished Mosaic" image on the SonyStyle site is actually fz290-keycolor_snake.jpg), I have seen it on the FZ180 in person and it is very nice and distinctive. In the case of the FZ180, it covers both the keyboard base and the lid. I like it better than the black keyboard base with matte silver lid.
