    Hey everyone, first post here!

I'm considering between 3 laptops- the Dell m1330, MBP 15", and the Sony FZ-190.

I went in to the Apple store and almost purchased the MBP, but walked out with nothing instead. I still can't get myself to fall in love with it.

I am a graphic designer currently using a Sony desktop PC with a 23" Sony LCD monitor (SDM-P234/B) with a resolution of 1900x1200 via DVI.

Will the 8400 video card that comes with the FZ-190 be able to output that same screen resolution on my external monitor? If so, i also noticed that there is an output for HDMI- is there a cable that goes from HDMI to DVI?

Also, are there Matte and Glossy versions of the FZ190 screen? I can't stand the glossy, and i didn't see it specified anywhere on the sonystyle site.

    Thanks guys.
    -Joe

Yes, the FZ's 8400M GT graphics card will be able to output those resoltuions to your external monitor. You can buy a HDMI to DVI cable from any computer store. The FZ only comes in glossy screen.

thanks for the info. unfortunatley i think i'm gonna have to go with the MBP. i can't believe all these PC manufacturers are jumping the glossy-screen bandwagon just for sales without giving the option for a matte screen. i really wanted this Sony too.
