Has anyone downgraded their FZ140/E from Vista to XP/XP Pro. I'm installing XP Pro next week on my FZ140, and would rather not have any driver-issue related surprises (or others) if it could be avoided....thanks--

    a|111 and vdoefx,

You both should acquaint yourselves with the search box at the top of the page here (not the search drop downs). The searchbox WILL accept two character search terms like XP.

    Gary,

All due respect, and I realize I'm new here, but it's rather tedious to search and pull up page after page after page of info, and then spend quite a bit of time manually looking at all the entries, only to find that whatever info is out there, is buried underneath other Sony types of computers.

As with other boards, it would make more common sense to me to "break out" the models inside the FZ series into separate areas... sure would make it faster, and easier, to find what you're looking for.

Again, with much respect and admiration for what you all do on here...

Tom, excellent point...it can be time consuming and without results. But I too can appreciate the help that the the regulars contribute to any board---al

You can use that search box to do a more specific search and find what you want. Let's say for example that you want XP downgrade info specifically for an FZ190, then use the search terms "FZ190 XP". You'll get a more filtered result set.

I understand it can take a bit of time to search for the info you want, and that can be frustrating. But I also think you need to realize that it doesn't make sense to ask folks here to reiterate the answers to the same questions over and over again, when a little "elbow grease" on your part will get you what you need.

The other thing is the search box can give you results more quickly than waiting a few hours, or more, for someone to respond.

    Gary

P.S. Regarding separate areas. That will never happen here. The idea has been discussed and rejected to divide the forum in to sub forums for SZ, FZ, TX, etc. models so breaking it down into a finer subdivision of FZ190 versus FZ180 versus FZ21 etc is a non-starter. The rationale is that with the exception of driver issues there is so much that is common across all the Sony machines and most assuredly within the model families like the FZ as an example that it would be even more scattered as to where one should look for answers to an FZ question. Do I go to the FZ190 sub forum only, or do I look in all the various FZ sub model forums?

I haven't seen a dumbest document than this one. This doc if printed in a soft enough paper (Sceptic Safe), well maybe it'll have a real good application. What's going on with the people out there, what is all that trouble for?

If you have to ask, you don't need to know. Good luck getting any questions answered in these forums with that sort of attitude.

Oh and don't let the door hit you in the rear,on your way out.
