    Hi

    can anyone tell me the maximum memory for a FZ18L

    manufacturer says 2GB, forums say 4GB because of the chip set on the mother board,

    tried 4GB this morning and the laptop would not start windows, the hard drive light flashed and nothing happens, or does it take a long time for the laptop to notice a hardware changed?

    also tried 1x 2GB module on its own, same result, so assume the memory has to go in pairs. is that correct?

    or have a I bought dead memory?

    Any help would be grateful.
