I've seen a lot of observations about heat on our FZ180 and FZ190 models (and let's not forget our brethern in Europe with the FZ11 series machines). The numbers seem to be all over the map. So, I thought I'd start a thread where we can share our observations. I'd suggest doing this with the system idling under virtually no load for ten minutes or so.

( PLEASE restrict responses to ONLY FZ series machines!)

    State the following:

    Model: FZ180, FZ190, FZ11 etc
CPU speed: 2 Ghz, 2.2 Ghz etc.
Video card type: Intel or Nvidia
Core 1 temp: denote Fahrenheit or Celsius
    Core 2 temp: ditto
Ambient room temp: denote Fahrenheit or Celsius
(Why include the room temp you might ask? If my room is at 89 degrees and my CPU is showing 92 and Jane's room is 72 degrees and showing 92 degrees. Mine is only running 3 degrees over the room, and Jane's is running 20 degrees hotter.)

Program used to measure the temps: SpeedFan or Notebook Hardware control
(BTW I get VERY different readings from the two of these even with BOTH of them running at the same time. This seems ODD to me. See my results below.)

    Model: FZ190
    CPU speed: 2 ghz
    Video card type: Nvidia
    Core 1 temp: 91 f
    Core 2 temp: 91 f
    Ambient room temp: 77 f
    Program used: SpeedFan

    Same machine as above.
    Core 1 temp: 118 f
    Core 2 temp: 118 f
    Ambient room temp: 77 f
    Program used: Notebook Hardware Control.

I found out why there is such a difference between the two programs on how they report the temperature:

    CPU Temps versus Core Temps
