Has anyone noticed that the speaker volume on the FZ190 is pretty limited? Some sites I visit for audio/video are tough to hear even with the website's volume control cranked to the max and the fz190 volume control at its max.

Am I missing something? Is there some other place to gain more control of the volume? On XP you had the overall speaker level and a separate mixer control for wave output. The vista mixer control SEEMS to have a similar functionality but I have the windows app and windows media player settings at max in the mixer.

Mine had the same problem. If you go to the Control Panel and choose Sound, select the Speakers, then click Properties, you can adjust the level. Mine was only half way for some reason.

Yeah volume level is pretty low in fz. With dell even with 3/4 bars the volume would be really loud.

It doesn't seem that bad to me. Just for testing, I played a podcast straight from twit.tv using its flash podcast player with the volume at max and its plenty loud. (I ended up turning the volume down to 65)

The problem I am talking about is a lack of RANGE on the volume control. When you do come across a site with a very weak audio stream there is no way to force the Sony to push it up. Every other machine I have owned had the ability to crank the volume level WAY beyond normal limits. Not that you would ever LEAVE it in that mode, but it was nice to have that extra "umph" there when you needed it.

I did uncover the "enhancement" settings and the "loudness compensation" mode is a nice touch.
