I'm trying to buy the FZ21S Vaio at a decent price.

I know it has the 8600m GS but I need to know is it DDR2 or DDR3 in terms of memory and is it the underclocked or normal version in this Sony FZ21S model?

    Thanks

DDR3 & its the normal version. Its quite an improvement over the 8400GT DDR3 and very close to the performance of 8600GT DDR2.

yuup... noisy when everything is silent in your place, i.e night time
but the power saving settings in vista slow the fan down..virtually quite
but the fan is constantly running is high performance mode, making it irritating.

However im totally happy with my purchase, had it for a couple of months now, works like a dream, did a clean install, included sp1, no driver issues. played a number of games on it at a perfectly acceptable frame rate, bioshock and COD4.

The blu-ray drive and wireless-n capabilities make it a laptop which will be relevent for at least the next few years
