I have a s660 which I bought a few weeks ago, ive been tryin to find a keyboard shortcut to manually set the fan at a speed I want, i.e. forcing max cooling even when it isn;t necessary. The s660 is basically a sz jsut with an older processor and 6400 graphics chip with no intel switch.
Using NHC ive underclocked the cpu to 400Mhz(A Pentium M 1.86 inside mine) and the temperature stays at about 46C during moderate use, the hard drive temp is 38C(Im not sure, but think its a bit high). Are there bios updates out there that will lower the temp even more or anything else i should do to get even better results? The underclocking functions really well, no freezes or shutdowns. Is there any advice to do something more which i havent done. Underclocking i got my standard battery to go from an avg of 2.30 hrs to 3.30 hrs during continous use.

thats about the temp i get for the hard drive and cpu doesnt seem warm to me at all. try finding a program to underclock your video card. it gives you a lot of battery time. also, you can undervolt the cpu by the multipliers. lower the 6x down around .2v. i have it at 0.716v. how did you get to underclock your cpu? i have a pentium m 1.8 and the lowest i can get it is 600mhz.
