    Can anyone who owns one of these tell me whether it has a near silent or an unbearably noisy fan?

    Also does the fan run nearly all the time or only some of the time?

    I am taking back an Asus M5N 1.6ghz Centrino model that makes a fan noise like a droning wasp all day and I don't want to make the same mistake again.

    Also can anyone give any views on this model versus Acer Travelmate 8100 series regarding specs and portability and looks etc. They are both Sonoma.

    My FS is very quiet and when the fan comes on it's barely noticable. It only runs for a breif period of time, then again, I'm not playing games or anything, just web surfing, email, MS Office.
