Hi,
I have a Sony Vaio VPCEC3SOE. When I bought this laptop around two years ago it was silent, even when I had lots of programs running.
But now the fan is really loud all the time. It also has random times when it literally sounds like a helicopter taking off. I have backed up all my stuff just in case something burnt out.
This laptop has an Intel Core i5, ATI Radeon graphics card and 6 gb ram so it should run with ease.
Can someone please help me as to what I should do?
Any response is much appreciated.

The things I can think of that might help:
clean out the fan, replace the fan, replace the cooling gel thing on cpu, update fan control program...... -
When i did take it apart a few months ago the fan was clean. In fact there was hardly any dust inside the laptop. By changing the fan do you mean a more quite one or the same?
Where can i find an update?
Thank you
Fan constantly running loud
