Hey all, I've just been looking at new laptops and the Sony ones really attracted me. The only thing that's stopping me from buying one is access to the fan. I live in a very dusty place and I clean my Asus fan every 2 or 3 months to keep it clean. So how easy is it to get to the fan of Sony laptops? I realize it won't be as easy as an Asus, I've also tried opening Lenovo laptops where you have to detach the palmrest and the lift the keyboard which is a little annoying but still fine. My worst nightmare is my friends Fujitsu where I can't seem to open at all. Thanks! I'm looking at the SR or the CS models atm.

There are enough guides on disassembly of the SR and CS for you to access the fan. I personally don't see hard time to access from one model to another. How about getting some screen filter to protect the vents from outside in your case?

    cheers ...

It took me probably 30 minutes to take my SR's back off and get to the fan. Keep in mind this is without knowing where screws and other things were. Wasn't really hard to access... I would imagine other Vaio's would be designed pretty similar.
