My SR turned itself on in my backpack yesterday.. and I didn't realize it until I turned it on just now.. It smells like something fried or something... But yeah, it still works fine.. But the fan is running at full speed all the time!! it's way too loud..

Does anybody know if there's anyway to fix this.. or do I have to send it in to sony?

Goes into Task Manager, click processes, and find out which process is running high. Then you can see what is software is causing it. Did you try to re-boot?

I'm sorry to tell you this but I reckon that bad smell might mean you need to send it for service. :(

25c? That is suspicious. Is it the core temp or is it the case temp? What is cpu usage %?

But everything is running just fine :(
I'm really afraid that they will mess up my laptop..

    That's the core temperature
My CPU usage is at 12% atm

It sounds like you burned the temperature sensor and it's giving you false reading, which in turns triggers the fan. I don't think that's something easily fixable by the user. Good luck with the service.

Download Speedfan and see if it can control the speed.

Have you tried turning your computer off?
Just, maybe if you leave it off for an hour or so, the sensor might be reset...

I don't think the SR's BIOS allows changing the fan speed..

I left it off all day today, and it's still loud, very loud... :(
