    http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/08/13/flash_based_hard_drives_cometh/

anyone know where to buy this product? Currently Sandisk is sata 5000 model is the fastest SSD. I was very very impressed by its performance !!!

I find that 2.5inch SSD simply beats hell out of 1.8inch SSD.

    So..............
I am thinking to get one of this (by replacing 160GB) to use as main HDD for TZ (that is, installing OS, etc)
and use 1.8inch samsung HDD as secondary HDD. (e.g., data backups, )

hows that? this way, we can make Sony TZ the fastest. !!! :D

How much will you pay? Will you be sorry when next year people buy 64GB, 128GB ect. SSD drives for cheaper and you will be stuck with 32GB?

yes I will be sorry myself to see other ppl getting 128GB or even 256GB :-(

I just could not find the price, ok, Sandisk official website states that OEM price would be 350USD, that, I consider bloody cheap. so evern around 400USD for 2.5inch 32GB, Im willing to pay for that. But where can I get them?!!!

SSD prices will not drop as fast as you think especially when we're talking about a relatively new technology. Look at the prices of current 32GB SSDs, you only get a price break when you buy in bulk.

You cannot always compare storage/price ratio!

For some pople is more important that their battery lasts 30min longer and the laptops is not that hot. At least this is important for me.

Afterall..who needs 300GB in a laptopy, thats stupid. OS+office+some utils and thats it...documents and pictures dont take a lot of time, unless they are high resolution pictures, but then you can use an external driver.

Anyway..i like this a lot and thinking of installing it into SZ (when I buy one), thats why I asked if it is possible to install into any SATA HDD.

That Sandisk SSD drive is currently the slowest you can get, not the fastest. Perhaps you want to check the write speeds. Toms is also a bit higher than my tests. I finished my testing of the Sandisk, Samsung and Mtron last night. Gimme a few days to get the articles out guys.

As for the author, check the other threads because I have been told by Mtron (who is the fastest by far) that they will give a price of 650 for their disk which is significantly lower than 1499 and 1300 at Dvnation and the other place.
