System restore if you have a recovery partition, or go find a Vista disc.

Can I use any Vista disc?? I don't think I can do a system restore since I cant get off of this error screen. It says this.

I started up my laptop and instantly got a message informing me that windows failed to start and to fix the problem I must do the following:
    1. insert installation disc and restart
    2. choose language settings and click 'next'
    3. click 'repair your computer'
These instructions are followed by a 'status' number (0xc000000f)
The problem is that I did not receive any installation cd's with the laptop and I cannot start in safe mode because I cannot get passed the above instructions

Use any Vista disc, or the System Restore discs you were supposed to burn after you received the computer.

No, the system restore discs that are created on Sony machines are image restoration discs so he won't be able to use them for recovering the file he needs.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. The restore discs will get the problem fixed, but does require a full format.

You can do a repair install with a Vista disc.
