Since he says "in great condition," it sounds like it is used... Good deal, though!

    $1200 is a steal~ ^^ gratz

I have been tracking the eBay price for TZ for three weeks now. Most brand new sealed TZ150 are sold between $1500~$1650 (usually 5 listing each week). There aren't many TZ130 around, but I have seen one been sold for $1300.

Either there is a huge profit markup on these laptops, which I kind doubt or those seller have a private channel of getting inventory.

really psun786, I have been tracking the tz150 on ebay like mad also, everytime i see it going well over 1700, only on one occasion did I see it go for 1600. I must be searching it wrong or something.

To explain how I got it so cheap
I picked it up locally from a young kid, when I saw him I knew he was quite wealthy and didnt care much about doing research on how much the actually laptop was really worth. I can tell all he wanted was some quick cash and plus he said it was a gift so I dont think he cared how much he got for it. All in all everything boots, no driver issues, nothing out of the ordinary in the logs, so I believe am fine plus he hasnt register the product so I can just go and register it and start the warranty.

Ram - What kind of ram can the tz use? I know stock it uses pc-4200 533, can it use pc-5300 667, or even pc-6400 800? Someone please answer before 9pm pacific so I can purchase it and install it tonight.

I got my new sealed off ebay for $1650 last Sat. The only reason I paid a little more than the average is because this seller has over 3300 positive feedback and $2000 coverage by Paypal. DannyBui mentioned Craigslist, so I did a search in my area, found a perfect TZ150 for $1590 http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/sys/437231045.html

My TZ is still in transit so I couldn't give a 100% spec. But I believe its 200pin DDR2 PC2 5300 667Mhz. I already ordered a 2GB stick from newegg for $58. Even if the DIMM only support 533Mhz instead 667Mhz, PC2 5300 would fine. It will just run at 533Mhz instead of 667Mhz default. There is no point getting 800Mhz DIMM.

BTW, just make sure you get one 2GB stick instead of another 1GB stick. The TZ only have one DIMM slot

yah psun about that I went to frys knowing 90% sure the tz only has 1 dimm but after talking to the worker there and him looking it on the computer he told me that the tz at 2 dimms. I find that odd that I was wrong but seeing him look on the computer made me doubt myself. So I went ahead and bought the 2 stick and went home to figure that the tz only had 1 dimm!!!

Had to return it and bought the 2gb 1dimm, could of save myself a trip if I only followed my instincts.

After installing the 2gb and then booted up my laptop, bootup only took 20-30 seconds, after reading all the horror stories i thought i was going to expect something painfully slow. So far im satisfied with my tz.

20~30sec boot Vista boot time out of box? um.... that is incredibly amazing, are u sure u timed correctly? I am expecting a boot time at least 60sec +/-.

Do u know that my home desktop takes about 30 seconds to boot into Vista x64 desktop (Intel Quad core @ 3.83Ghz / 4GB DDR2 @ 1066Mhz / Dual 10K RPM HDD in Raid 0)
