The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I know that there has been an update released for the US versions of the laptops to make ProtectorSuite play nice with mozilla firefox v1.5xx

    I cannot find any update for it on the Asia/Pacific support sites however. I have tried to install the US update but it detects my model number as incorrect and refuses to install.

    Any ideas?

    I am in the same boat as you...perhaps a call to Sony Support? If enough of us do it, and there already exists an upgrade in the US...

    Did you guys try to install the US Version? It has no reason to "not work"

    As I stated clearly in the original post; I have tried to install the US update. It detects my model number is not of US origin and refuses to install.

    i have the japanese sz91s and have been trying a lot of different updates but nothing works.

    i've even tried the editing registry but it still doesnt work.

    i've even tried using firefox 1.0 and it still doesnt work.

    it's a bummer.
