Sometimes when I boot up my SZ430, at the logon screen, it says "Plz connect your fingerprint sensor" & I cant use my fingerprint, I have to type my password. So I have to restart my laptop & the fingerprint works well again. Sometimes I have to restart 2-3times to make the fingerprint works again. I asked Sony Support and they said that's software problem, told me uninstall "DigitalPersona Password Manager" in my laptop & reintall /w the newest version. I've tried but actually, there's not such program in my laptop. One time when I cant get my fingerprint connected, I logon by typing pass & I go to MS page to download that prog. & install, but I cant finish the installation if my fingerprint doesnt work. That's suck. Can anybody help me ? I think this is hardward problem. Are there anyway to open the cover of Vaio & fix this ?Thanxx alot

i've got the same 'hiccup' ... but i find that once i've done a manual login (i.e. entered my password) and vista starts up ... the fingerprint sensor is back up working again. doesn't seem to be a hardware fault but a config issue, hoping it will b sorted with a driver update soon.
also, when i restart the machine the nxt time round, i don't have the 'pls connect your fingerprint sensor' coming up - so for the time being i guess we jst have to live with it and hope sony and upek work out a solution!! -
