    Hi!

I've installed the latest intel driver 14.1 on my vaio sz and now i've a flickering and black lines under vista login screen and when the uac dialog is coming up. Also very very strong when running the benchmark!

Deinstalling, reinstalling, everything i've done is without success! What can i do? Under the Nvidia mode, no problems.

    Wooot,
    you are not alone, dude.
    I had the same issue.

I couldn't get rid of the flickering and lines.
99% it happens while the laptop is in 16Bit mode.

So I reinstalled Vista, and now it works with the new driver.
I dunno how this makes any sense. :D

First I was afraid my viedo chip is broken...

    ****. Reinstalling...
I'm not sure what kind of problem is this. Maybe some files from vista will be damaged during update the driver?

There must be a way to fix this without reinstalling i hope. But how?

    I tried everything.
Boot up in the Speed/nVidia-Mode and delte and deinstall everything related to the Intel GMA driver.
I needed to make a reinstall anyways to make an image of my drive.

Oh, this might be a lot of work to do on weekend. I think there is no chance to find the problem. :(

Have you tested the latest intel driver after reinstalling? What happend?

After a clean install the Autoupdate of Vista has found the driver automatically (dated 6.6.07).

No issues after all. Works fine now.
Make an image of you partition, just in case. www.acronis.com offers a 15 day trial.

Update: Sorry, the same problems with the new driver :( !

But this time the vista system restore helped my very very sucessfully! Bevor installing a system restore point was created, after booting in flickering vista the restoring fix this problem and the driver went back to 1255!

I installed 15.4.3 and suffered the same flickering problem, uninstalled... reinstalled...uninstalled..reinstalled a million times and the problem still existed.

Well guys, I have a solution!!! It is really easy to do and it requires no uninstalling/installing. You can keep the 15.4.3 driver and do the following.

Type in regedit in the search bar and open up the program

    Find the registry key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers\MemoryManager]
    "FaultInjection"=dword:00000200

Delete "MemoryManager", restart your computer and it's fixed!

I have an XPS M1210 running Windows Vista Home Premium 32-Bit.

Thank you very much! I'll tried this a few minutes ago and everything's working perfekt! MemoryManager...this string wasn't there in any other driver version i'll think.
