Looking on getting a fully specked z2(3) in july (hopefully with IB). For current Z2 owners... can you do video editing without the PMD? I plan on using pinnacle. I rarely.. and I mean rarely do work at home.

Sure, why not? It just runs using the built in graphics for any hardware acceleration. Of course wherever this is used and supported, the AMD in the PMD will be much faster unless they also support intel quicksync. I'm not using pinnacle so can't advise on that. Sony Vegas runs just fine on just the internal graphics if that's any indication. Just make sure you get the FullHD screen, the additional pixels really help with video editing for that little bit of more overview.
