hello all, my dad has a credit card with HSBC, a popular bank in the UK, and apparently it offers an extra 2 years warranty on any branded electronic goods bought with it. That translates to a saving of a few hundred pounds over here! I will definitely be trying to use it when buying the SZ I'll hopefully be getting soon.

All I want to know is, has anyone else had any experience with using this offer before? Are there any catches? How does it all work?

    Cheers,

    Canon

AFAIK, any Visa gold, mastercard gold or Amex cash-card gold will provide a 90 days loss/breakage protection and will double the standard warranty

    No.
I bought a SZ160 in the US with my Amex gold card, when I arrived in Australia out of the taxi I dropped the laptop.
I claimed the damage, it is now being repaired and will only cost me AUD $50 (the maximum amout you pay)

this is not really a HSBC benefit, more a Visa Gold, Mastercard Gold, Amex gold etc benefit
