For those of us with SSD drives which are smaller than the conventional hard drives we would otherwise have, this is a key issue.
My TZ195 had only 16G free (out of 36G according to control panel) out of the box. After a clean bloatware-free reinstall using Portable One's restore disk, there is 36G free out of 44.8! Wow! What a difference!
Now that's before installing MS Office, and I am starting to find missing programs (DVD decoder; DVD burning) which I will have to find and reinstall somehow. But still -- 20 gigs more space!
If Office takes up 2 gigs, and other programs another gig or two -- there will still be 32 gigs for data.
This should be enough for me and so maybe I won't swap out the DVD drive for a hard drive after all!
What programs did you guys have to reinstall and how much free space did you end up with after clear Vista reinstallation?

Goes to show how much stuff was installed on the computer.

dockhead, 36gb out of 44.8gb sounds about right. Cuz when my tz190 was bloatware removed by P1, i had 22.8 gb free out of 32.4gb. So thats 8gb of used up storage for both of us. Props to P1 yall!!!
Free space after clean operating system install
