I lost my job so i have to sell be beloved laptop the sony vaio VPCEC, to raise funds for xmas.

I bought this laptop second hand and the hard drive had been replaced, there is no recovery folder or software. Im going to do a fresh install of win7 x64 ready for the next owner. I can do this and install all the drivers no problem. So i really want to know what sony software should i install. There seems to be an abundance to choose from and i dont have a clue what they all do and whats worth installing.

    Many Thanks

It's bad to hear about your job. If you want to get help here then you better give the link on support page of your laptop or ask it in the owner's thread of your model if there is any.

By the way I don't know its exact specs but most likely practically any laptop of 2012 year manufacture and above is capable to be on par or faster than this one so unless it has good display resolution you won't get much of it.

Maybe put the superfluous drivers on a disc and just keep the Windows on the laptop clean, that way they can just choose later if they want it? I know personally I hate all the bloatware that comes with it

Thanks. Here is the model i have, it has 17.3" screen and upgraded to 8gb of ram.

    Sony : Specification for VPCEC1S1E/BJ | VPCEC1S1E/BJ technical specifications

i was looking for an install guide, there is one for other models but not for the e-series.

There does seem to be a crazy amount of software and drivers, also the ati driver listed is from 2010. Its a good idea just let the next owner decide what they want to install.

    1. Chipset drivers, reboot. Try to download it either from here or from here: it is russian but it' easy to understand. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=20775&ProdId=816&lang=rus
    2. ME drivers, reboot.
    3. Sony shared library and reboot.
    4. GPU Intel drivers.
    5. Then open device manager and look how many are there unrecognized devices. Install SFEP driver. If after that there are 1 unrecognized device less then fine. If not then manually try to update drivers and select search on computer, drive C and all folders.
    6. Then install Setting Utility Series and reboot. Check if this package installed VAIO Event Service and other.
    7. SATA drivers. I personally suggest unzip this https://mega.co.nz/#!FNtzlBzD!GaN7XiJIv-ztcHkfFUmsFmFgI-NP8ohnzda1J3RconU and manually update sata ahci controller in device manager looking for drivers in the unzipped folder.

Then install other drivers which you would like like for card reader etc. Also may install VAIO Care.
