Hello all, long time reader but never got round to posting.

anyway my question is this - Can i delete vista and create a new install of XP on an FZ18E? (checking before purchasing as i dont want to use vista)

Im also assuming that the hard drive will come pre partitioned with setups and trial programs on the second partition?

Has anyone had any experience with putting xp on a sony vaio laptop and is there anything i need to look out for?

    thanks in advance

Search is your friend! There are threads here about installing XP. The dirvers exist, the auxiliary applications for Function Keys, Power Management etc do not. Search this forum for more details.

what should be the words to search? I have tried multiple search words but I'm not getting a complete thread dedicated to this, one that is step by step. There are very little pieces here and there....

Well, I see the search problem. The search won't allow for two character words like XP. ...sigh...

So here is a link to the thread:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=155026

But the bottom line is there are no instructions, because no one has gotten everything to work. They only have the drivers, but none of the auxillary applications for Power Managment, Function keys, etc.
