I recall questions here about upgrading the HDD on an FS Sony. This review appears to suggest that upgrading is as simple as turning a couple of screws.

    Steve,

I'm looking at the IBM Hitachi Travelstar 7K60 60GB ATA-6 2.5in 7200RPM Mobile Hard Drive.

Will this one fit in the FS series?

Notebook hard drives, with a few exceptions, are fairly universal.

    thiagofl84,

What are you going to do with the "old" 100GB HDD?

I don't have any use for another one so I would like to sell it on eBay after I upgrade, however I don't know if you can legally sell a hard drive with Windows software installed.

Plus i'm also buying a new copy of XP Pro so I won't be needing the old XP Home that's included from Sony.

Does anyone have any experience with selling "old" hard drives?

You could always just reformat it before you sell, or sell it as is. You won't get into trouble. Or you could get a USN enclosure and keep it for backup.

    Cheers

Webster, just make sure you do several low-level formats if you had any personal data on it, before selling. The hard drive manufacturer's web site will have a utility you can download for doing this. If I remember correctly, the government does 7 of these formats to ensure that any data is virtually unrecoverable.
