Fz31M - 8400GT and Nvidia Driver WinXP

Hi everybody.
So, i've downgrade my pc to winxp. now, i've some problem with the graphics card. i had install the driver from laptop2go but has some problem:
1) windows cannot save the setting of autoturning off of the screen in control pannel.
2) i think is due to the smartdimmer by nvidia. This software have some problem. If i set the autoturn off by smartdimmer the scrren becomes black but to turn on the light i've to press the light up shortcut (FN+f4 or f3 i don't remember) and if i press other keys the screen remain black.

someone has the same problem? or has the solution?

I also have VGN-FZ31M and I´ve been searching for the right drivers to download. Would you please tell me which ones you used, and where to find it?

Does everything else work for you with XP? Blueray, FN-keys etc?
Did you sleapstream to install XP SP2 or how did you do it?

I´ll be forever grateful if you could help me, I cant even use my computer with Vista. If I get XP to install successfully Ill help you out as much as I can too

the FN-key works. Blueray and memory card not tested, other things works well.
i've some problems with that driver. i've found one but doesn't have the nvidia control panel. another one has the control pannel but has some problem with the auto turn off of the screen. other one has some problem with FN-key brighnets. etc.

you can download the driver and application program.
but, to do all right you must follow a list of steps. send me a PM to contact in private way (have you got msn-messenger?). and i try to explain all.

Hello its me again
I managed to successfully install XP last night, havent installed all the drivers yet though but I will try and do it tonight.
What graphic card-drivers did you use?
and which gave the different effects (which had the control panel but problem with light etc, and I´ll try and see if I find any other drivers)

 

so
you must follow a right sequence in order to have a complety functionality of the sistem. if you had install the driver into the downloaded package you will have all the functionality (brighnest control ecc).

have you got some problem? have you try the webcam? memory card? the system has recognise all the hardware?

my webcam works, no problem!
it semms so far the system recognice all hardware, havent tried the memory cards yet though, and there does´nt seem to be a driver that supports blue-ray-driver for win XP.
Thats seems to be the only thing Im missing, and the power manager is really bad. my batteries never show 100% but up to 97% for some reason, and without a powercord the batteries dies in 10-15minutes.

How´s everything going for you?
have you played any 3D-games on it?

Has anyone managed to solve the problem with the auto turn off of the screen?

 

I dont seem to have a problem. When I close my lid the screen shuts down, and when I open the lid again and touch the touchpad/mouse my screen lights up again. Is this what you mean?
