    Game won't install on my Sony SA - I/O device error

    Its the only game i've ever tried to install, I don't have any others to try...

    So, i've tried two versions of this game - The Sims 3 - now I know for sure! the SA exceeds the requirements.

    1st disk said something about a cache (although the disk was badly scratched so i'm blaming that):
    C:\...\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Caches\Sunset Valley.objectCache

    2nd disk which only has a few light scratches on it talks about an I/O device error. I've googled it and someone talks about an outdated driver?

    Now, I have NO idea what drivers are but this laptop is really new, surely it can't be outdated already, my average PC of 6 years ago installed it fine and that just about met the requirements.

    How come they come up with different errors then and at a different time during the install?
