    Hi there

So, I've been experiecing these annoying small stutters every now and then (often enough to be annoying) in pretty much any game and also in video. Even old games, like Half-Life (so it's not due to CPU or GPU). I tried the stock microsoft sound driver and the official sony one for my laptop (Vaio Z1) and also the newest realtek but all suffered the same problem. Only disabling the soundcard in device manager stopped it.

I've seen lots of talk on the net about this issue or similar but is there really no real solution? (I hardly count turning off sound as a solution)

    Thanks

Incredibly enough I think I fixed it. Under speaker properties > advanced, I disabled the Exclusive Mode. I did some playing in two of the old games (max framerate, easier to notice stutter) and they seemed to play alright. Anyone experiencing same issue could perhaps try that and let me know if I've just gone mad...
