anyway, this graphics card supports Directx 10 correct? as ive downloaded such and installed it on my laptop. although i was just wondering is this laptop supposed to be able to handle games such as Crysis or COD4 ? more importantly COD4, Crysis is only my friends.
i find that the game has a slight laggy feel to it ( only really tested online but the laggynes is even there when i start my own server )
is there anyway to overcome this, ive tried lowering the stats for the game graphical wise and its still not happening.
also, for anyone who has this laptop, has anyone tried overclocking the graphics card and would it help me with this at all? if you would like a video to explain what im dealing with, please suggest a good desktop video recorder, fraps or whatever and i'll do so.
Thank you for all your help.

The 3470 is a low-end card. No way it could handle Crysis without some form of lag. People on the SR gaming thread (with the same 3470) report 10-20 fps on low settings. So, there's not much you can do to improve performance for Crysis. For COD4, the only person who's played it used auto-detect and played on low-medium settings at "acceptable" fps. No idea what that's supposed to mean.
Either way, try updating the drivers to the most recent to see if it helps (download the desktop versions and then use mobility modder). Probably not too much you can do to improve the performance of a low-end card, though, even with overclocking. -
so basically you are saying i couldnt really play cod4 on this graphics card?
i was wondering because referring to the recommended system requirements on the COD4 box, the laptop should run it fine.
could you please link me to the info you mentioned above please? and thanks for your help. -
Hmm. I just checked this page with benchmarks for the desktop 3470. So at max settings, it's running pretty slowly even on the desktop version, especially on the higher resolutions. The mobile GPU is a slower version of the desktop 3470, but IMO, it should still play the game if you turn the settings down.
Have you tried updating to the latest Catalyst drivers? Try 8.9 or 8.8 by downloading it from the desktop version and the using mobility modder. A lot of the times, gaming performance can also be affected by drivers, so that's worth looking into.
