My Father's company computer recently encountered a heavy window frame, and the window frame won. I have another thread on this somewhere, but my issue is that the credit card company requires certain stipulations before considering my claim. They need a pictures of the damage (check) and a written estimate to repair the computer.
I have the VGN-SZ450n. The screen is cracked, the hard drive is returning errors, and it is overheating occasionally. The LCD and hard drive are on sony's esupport site (for $500, $300 respectively), but obviously the overheating issue requires further investigation. I fear that I have no other choice than to turn the computer over to Sony, and I was wondering if anybody else here has done this before, and if so, could offer any advice on how to possibly expedite the service, or any other advice in general.
Thanks

My thoughts are that computer might not even be salvagable.
