I've just taken delivery of a Z51, and I want to use my Vodafone SIM in it. It looks from other threads that the way to do this is using Globetrotter, but this isn't supplied with my Win7-64 machine....

Does anyone know where I can download it?

The Z51 comes with Gobi Qualcomm UNDP-1, so you can't use GlobeTrotter. You need Sony 3G Connection Manager.

i have a wwan module (option GTM382) in my Z that worked with globetrotter under vista32 (fress vista install with latest drivers and globetrotter connect from option.com)

I have just recently installed w7 64bit and although the wwan module itself works ok and I can use the new w7 integrated dialer to establish a 3G connection, the Globetrotter Connect sw does not recognise the wwan card (just says waiting for device and nothing else happens).

anybody with similar experience or maybe a solution?

there are some settings that can only be changed w Globetrotter, so it would be good to find a solution..

    Is it for your Z?
Install WWAN driver, connection manager (for the 3G). And you can install smartWi for the GPS

because I think I could get some Verizon problem......so I thought to take the safe way by using European software,
    what your opinion?

also I need to know from you :
I bought one Gobi 2000 which is different to the UNDP-1 ,
and I would like to install it once it will delivered to me but I didn't find the driver for the Z series,
only the P series and X series using the Gobi2000 but they have 32bit driver ,
    any idea?
thank you again for your kindness

    Hello NHT,

I just realized that I wasted 100$ for the UNDP-1 unlocked bought on Ebay from a Chinese seller ,the device ask for the HS-USB driver, but which one! because the Sony HS-USB modem driver and Gobi image they are already installed.........
since yesterday I am trying to make work the unlocked UNDP-1 and guess what..............
this morning I decided to try the original UNDP-1 that I found into my laptop and after restart the computer started and finished properly the installation...........and what is more incredible it is that the UNDP-1 is not Verizon locked or the HSDPA/HSUPA part only is not Verizon locked.
from this I learned do not buy anymore not original Sony released spare parts,
the UNDP-1 that I bought maybe it is from HP or others.

I used all drivers from the European model Z56XRG + the US SmartWi from the Z790DLX,

    Start!

1)I unistalled everything regarding the Option GTM382E + Vaio Smart Connection previously from me installed,
    2)removed the GTM382E minicard
3)switch on the laptop and download the below :
    http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computi....zip&m=VGN-Z56XRG&ip=Preinstalled_Drivers.htm

    http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computi....zip&m=VGN-Z56XRG&ip=Preinstalled_Drivers.htm

    http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computi...ip&m=VGN-Z56XRG&ip=Preinstalled_Utilities.htm

than I installed per order :
    1) VAIO_Smart_Network_3.0_3.0.0.09080.zip and I restarted the laptop,
Than I have istalled the below:
    2) WWAN_Driver_R5_Generic_1.x_32bit_64bit_E_6.0_6.0.6.3_ALL.zip
    3) WWAN_Connection manager_R5_Generic_ENU_1.x_32bit_64bit_E_1.0_1.0.0.1_ENU.zip

After I switched off the laptop and opened in order to install the UNDP-1,
Closed again the laptop and switch on…………..
    BINGO! Everything working,

Than I left the European Smart Network with the WWAN in ON position and I unistalled the Smart Network,
I download the US Vaio Smart Wi :
    http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNZ790DLX&upd_id=5152&os_id=47

install the above Vaio Smart Wi and than switch of and restart again the laptop.
    BINGO,

You for sure will ask me why I used the Drivers from the European model………well….I did it to avoid the Verizon inconvenient.

what can I do in order to get the Microsoft Streets and Trips 2009 ?

I open what I have in START but it asked me for the product key,
is it possible to get it free? or how much it will cost?
