    Will this actually help Z1 owners? Some comments on another forum alluded to the fact that this would only work with newer controllers, and therefore there wouldn't really be any difference/advantage with these new drivers.

    Doesn't this require updating the Intel OROM? How do we update the OROM on the Z1?

    I need this, my Intel SSDs don't have GC but they do have TRIM... I haven't noticed any degradation yet... but I am sure it will happen eventually if it leave it like this.

    TRIM is TRIM and this can't hurt performance.

    im not running on raid with my ssd on my Z1, will i still benefit from this?

    If the new drivers bring performance enhancements yes, but as you are actually using TRIM already, there will be no additional advantage in your case.
