    Hi,
Looking for good deal on a Z with 1600x900 screen. Thinking of buying from an authorized dealer to make sure that I will have warranty and will be eligible for productivity rebate. Found one at PC Nation for $1599.
Will consider buying used if price is right.
    Thanks!

P.S. My beloved Z590 got stolen  Any chance Sony Chase credit card covers theft?

Check out the sonystyle.com outlet store. As of this morning they had quite a few Z690s in the $1500 range. They also had decked out RAID SSD models for north of $3000 but those dont sound like the type you are looking for.

If you decide to get one of those compare all of the different options they have. Some of the higher priced configurations have less on them then the cheaper ones. They come with a 90 day warranty and you have the option of adding better warranties on to that.

Isn't a Vaio VGN-Z720D/B notebook a pre-config model? That means that it is not a CTO model & all Z720 come in a standard configuration.

    Specs of Z720:

Yes, that is the one. Standard config z720 has higher specs than the CTO z590 I had. I will put Intel SSD in myself. I use XP 32 bit so 4gb memory is enough for me.
Speakers also not tinny anymore and overall system feels little faster even though I put on it last saved image from z590 and than updated some drivers since Sony has changed some hardware. Some day I will find time for a clean install.
I miss the premium carbon finish and green light near the tip of power adapter though ;)

That is a good deal. I ended up canceling the refurb order and getting that one. Even with the 10% off coupon that I had the PCNation price is a better deal for me. Plus this way I can get the free mobility bundle. That alone makes it worth it.
