Well, I got my SZ this weekend. I decided to go with the premium model, SZ260. Really nice laptop. I like the bigger keys, but it'll take a little getting used to compared to my old notebook. Too bad the video adapter switching couldn't be on the fly....

Today I did a full reinstall of an OEM XP Pro SP2 and I manually installed the drivers plus a couple of the apps. Everything is working fine.

Thanks to everyone on this forum for suggestions and help.

I just got an SZ-240, upgraded the RAM to 2GB and will be adding a 7200rpm SATA 120gb drive (when I get it).

I have been trying to get the drivers loaded on a clean WinXP professional build but the audio drivers do not seem to work, did you do anything special to get them working ?

    thanks for any help.

I just downloaded all drivers from Sony's support page for my model and loaded them in order. If you download the whole driver package then it includeds an HTML page with the drivers in order of install.

The only thing is, NVidia doesn't have drivers for the GeForce Go 7400 on their site, so I had to install Sony's version.

When I have more time I'll post some battery statistics.

If you want newer updated video drivers check this site out.

    LaptopVideo2Go Site

You won't have to use Sony's outdated drivers if you do not want too.
