nice pics! haha a vaio fanboy i see, what are your Z specs? how much was it? and where did it?

 

Whenever you have time, I'd be curious to see the same wallpaper selection on all three laptops if you could please (any will do, I just wonder how different it would look). I think it'll give a good idea of the differences of the screens. The TZ looks a bit faded compared to the Z though, but your FJ doesn't look too bad, but it could be the colors are different too.

 

yah i was too lazy to change the wallpaper but the TZ is running ubuntu colors of the Z and TZ are very close with a slight edge to the Z but the TZ seems brighter. Yah I am a Sony fanboy so far I had a Sony Picturebook C1MVP, Vaio T350, SZ 110, TXN15P, TZ150N/B, and now a Z530N/B. Specs are 2.4GHz CPU, 250GB HDD that I am planning on upgrading to SSD. and 4GB of DDR3 ram. Bought it on Amazon for 1615.00. Used 200 giftcard I recieved and signed up for Amazon prime trial for 3 months to get it next day for only 3.99

Ah, I think that's why the TZ looked different... I was wondering, cause I heard the TZ had a great screen too.

Wow, Sony fanboy you are. xD I wouldn't be considered one really, I only have a PSP and a pair of really old Sony headphones.

Honestly though, i could never afford a Z. I barely could afford this SR and it was $200 off! D: (I almost had to move to the 15" range with better specs, perhaps, but eh.)

Or maybe the TZ in the pictures is your brothers Japanese TZ90 right?

 

i dunno its a old canon sd500 maybe I have shaky hands I need to invest in a new camera with image stablazation. Im waiting for the Sony DSC T700 to come out.

 

yah thats my brothers TZ its hard to see but he has the premium carbon fiber finish.

 

OMG I am a idiot I had it set to macro setting thats why the pictures are so blurry I'll retake them when I have a chance =p

 

I was just thinking when I read your post "shaky hands".
On an EOS 400D I managed to take some (!!) good pictures without image stabilisation at 300mm zoom.

And I haven't got still hands... I'm drinking too much coffee and tea for that...

What resolution is your z screen? 1368x or the 1600x?

The Z's size is right between a TZ and the SZ, with all of its features and size I think its a great addition to their lineup, its like a hybrid SZ/TZ=Z

 

I got the 1366x768 the 1600x900 resolution is like 500 dollar premium I couldn't justify it. But if it was 1920x1080 I would.yah I had the SZ and the TZ and it does fit somewhere in the middle of the two. Although I do miss my TZ it was so light and I loved its foot print

 

i had the one with blu-ray and i realized it wasnt worth the extra 500 bucks..
plus i had ordered vista business which was another 100

so i shipped it back, and got one without blu-ray and with vista home, cause i bought the ultimate at my uni for 20 bucks

 

are the icons on the Z a lot bigger than on your TZ? cause now i am kind of unsure if i should stay with the 1600x900 or go for the 1366x768

cause when using the 1600x900 i always had to rescale the websites

 

to tell you the truth they look the same maybe the Z is a lil bigger. But if Sony offered a 1920x1080 I would be all over it like the do with the AW. But that resolution would be ultra tiny

 

hahaha.. yeah, thats what i was kind of concerned with..
but ill wait for it to arrive tomorrow, i just hate having to rescale most pages...

 

what res is the tz running on mac os?, I need a leopard gma 950 driver for it to run at 1366*768, I can only get 1024*768, any ideas?

 

lol, i didnt even notice it was running a mac, or some emulating software

how did you do it?
is it worth it?

 

its ubuntu using the mac dock. Although someone has put OSX on the TZ google it.

 

From my experience the TZ ran alot cooler and quieter on Ubuntu. The only thing I couldn't us was the fingerprint reader and memory stick and sd reader. I'll probably try running it on the Z when I have the chance.

Seems like the 1366x768 resolution is just the perfect resolution for me based on your pics. Great, now I just have to wait for Amazon to come up with another series of great deals on the Zs.

 

try to find a buy it now z on ebay so you can use Microsoft live cashback to get 30% off up to 200

I installed CS source today to run some benchmarks on the Z and here are the results. I ran with both the discrete and integrated graphics and here are the results. I preformed the video stress test as a bench mark
