Just got Fe790. I loved it. The best thing is its screen. liked everything.

Though there was'nt any drivers cd .As i want to install the 64bit Windows ,so i wonder i'll have to dowload all the drivers and utilities. which is a setback.

    Overall, i liked it

Can we get a few quick assessments?

    1. Keyboard. Any flex?
    2. Screen. How is the ghosting for games or movies?

    Thanks.

There is no ghosting for games or movies.

The FE has one of the best screens on laptops.

yep, Sony has the best screen of all
but the GPU is horrible, trust me, it wouldn't do anything more below-average settings on latest games
got my FE790 last week, messed up until I had to recover C drive the 4th time

Obviously there is something else going on here.

The Go7600 is a pretty good GPU actually.

I run Quake4 on High Settings and everything looks -- and performs-- quite lovely.

The 7600, even with 128MB, is a spectacular GPU. Anybody who argues otherwise can only be considered irrational.

This may be my next notebook. One of the keys is the keyboard though as I'm going to be writing on it.

The 7600GS on FE790 is just fine. Im playing Need for speed most wanted and call of duty 2 with maximum settings without any problem.

I've noted one strange thing i.e my battery never gets 100% . Im charging it whole night for the last number of days but still when i turn the computer on it shows 92% or 93% battery remaining instead of 100%. Am i missing something here.

The built in microphone gives an annoying internal sound while recording. But still its a nice feature to have .

I wouldn't stress over the battery. You don't want it in a constant state of charge or it will die quickly. The software probably only starts charging once it drops below a certain point.

    So, how's the kayboard feel?

I'm deciding between FE and BX. Now they are both core 2 duo 1,86, both will have 2gigs of ram the only difference is the graphics card. What's better: the nVidia 7600 128mb dedicated ram on FE, or ATI X1600 128mb dedicated (256mb hyper-memory) on BX? Which one's better? What to buy?

The keyboard is nice and very soft feel. The keys are good on fingers.

Gefore 7600 and x1600 are of about same range . So u can take either
