Hey guys/gals. I thought I would drop in here after picking up my first SZ laptop. After months of deliberation and going through 3 different laptops, and going through the whole Asus w3j debate, I have finally decided that the SZ 220 was the laptop for me. I was able to pick it up for 1800 at Best Buy. It was retailing at 1999.99, but it will be on sale this Sunday for 1849.99 for regular customers. Some Best Buy's have the 220 (xp home) and others the 230 (xp pro). They are the same exact models, but 100 dollars difference for the OS. I just did a clean install with pro and got all the drivers up with no issues. Only thing I have encountered is the sz is not installing my usb keyboard, which has never required drivers, which is quite odd.
Overall, I am thoroughly pleased and have already ordered a Booq Mamba S, thanks to ikaris's great review. Soon I will snatch up a BT mouse when I find a snazzy one and probably at set of BT headphones as well.
I'd like to thank everyone in the forums here, you all helped me make a highly informed and difficult decision very easy for this "anal about laptops" guy.

Congratz on your purchase, hope it works out well
I myself got the SZ150 and upgraded a few things in it.
xman, I think he means they will lower the price on laptops, for a sale starting this sunday? Which possibly means he knows someone or another associated with Best Buys to buy it before the sale starts. -
Wow cool.... Another instant off from Best Buy. I remember they did it once when they carried the 1xx-series.

Sorry I should have clarified the price. The SZ 220 is 1800 for employees of Best Buy. The SZ 230 is 1874 for employees. Yes, the price will be 1849.99 tomorrow for the SZ 220, at a regular price of 1999.99.
The space bar issue is present. The extreme left side does not register a keystroke. The battery is loose, but a few other Sony's have this issue as well.
My main problem is that after a fresh install with xp pro. The rearmost USB port will read my logitech laser mouse, and neither usb port will install my microsoft keyboard. Its quite annoying as I have never had problems like this with any laptop and simple plug and play devices. -
Just make sure its a Mamba XS, not an S... my review was for the XS. -
It seems like they have renamed the XS to S.

I was a little worried at first, but the dimensions seem the exact same. -
Update: I found a registry fix for my plug and play issues with the usb ports. I guess one of the drivers/utilities installed in the clean install must have installed some garbage in the registry. Anyways, the point is it is now fixed and I'm now officially on cloud nine with my SZ.

Here is the only place I've been able to find the XS:

That's where I bought mine.
Booq used to have it in their Closeout section, but I guess they sold them all ! (hopefully my review helped)
Got my sz220!
