    Dear All,

I am using Sony VAIO S series VPCSB28GG. When I start the computer, it appears a frame concerning problem on Graphic saying that " The performance cannot be changed because other applications are running", and I do not know how to turn it off, and I could not change my Graphic MODE as well.

Could you please tell me what I should do then. Many thanks in advance.

if an application is using hardware acceleration (e.g., Firefox, MSN Messenger, etc.), then you can't switch GPUs. you should find out which application is preventing the switch, close it, switch the GPUs, then rerun the said application. (if it's Firefox, you could turn off hardware acceleration from within the Options menu.)

Thank you very much. The problem I found is "Vaio Event Service". I tried to turn them off several times, and then the frame disappears. But when I restart the PC, it again happens as before. Please tell me what I should do now?

you need VAIO Event Service running all the time; as far as i know, it basically manages the VAIO-specific hardware-related events and reports back to Windows on how to manage them.
