Hi everyone. I have been having a problem with my s360 and games. At first I used the regular drivers for the graphics card that came with the system and every now and then the framerate will take a major hit even though you aren't doing anything. Then it would be fine.

So I upgraded to the Radeon Omega drivers and it fixed the framerate issue but now it stutters at certain parts. Also, the framerate issue still seems to be there for any N64 emulation that I play.

Anyways, I'm just wondering if anyone else has experience this problem and if there is a fix for it. If I remember correctly I used to never have this problem but it's just shown up recently. Thanks for any help!

Hey guys, just bumping this thread in the hopes that ANYONE with an s360 has had the same issue and knows how to fix it.

Since then, I have reformatted the Sony way, tried both the original drivers and the Omega Drivers. I have reformatted with a fresh Windows XP Pro and tried both drivers. I have tried every power management profile. And no matter what I do, the games will run super choppy for about 10-15 seconds, and then super smooth for about 10-15 seconds. It just continues like that on and off. Needless to say, that is unplayable.

Anyways, ANY help whatsoever would be appreciated. Even ideas on what to do. Aything at all, I'm dying here! Thanks for your time!

I wanna say its an overheating issue but I'm not too sure.. if you can, download a program to check temperatures.

    642jdub,

I managed to fix the problem for Counter Strike by using the original graphics drivers and the Beta version of Steam. I haven't had a problem with anything else since I switched back to the original drivers and used the Beta version of Steam. It's almost like that game was corrupting everything else.

Go to Sony's site and look for it in their support section for the Vaio S360

The link below concerns a S460 but the graphics drivers and rivertuner will work on yours, both of which got me a noticeable increase on 3d mark 2003, if your confident with tweaking give it a shot (depending on time of day sometimes the site times out when loading the pages)
