The vaio utility that stops the hdd when the laptop faces a jerk etc is not running on my SZ 483 anymore. Can anyone in here guide me as to how can I get it back? or if there is a specific service that runs it?

    Hi there, go to:
Start menu --> All Programs --> Vaio Central

Under "categories" tab: security --> Hard Disk Drive Protection Settings

From there, you can turn this function on and adjust the sensitivity level from low to high (default: med)

    I hope this helps

I've already tried doing that but it doesn't work. Which has led me to believe that somehow I've managed to disable the service that runs this particular utility. The reason, I asked if anyone in here can tell me as to which service runs this utility.
