    HDD Smart Protection Do i need that?

    hi guys i just discovered i have HDD Smart Protection on my vaio Z vgn750.

    Do i really need this app running on my computer?
    If i turn it off is it a big deal?

    This app will monitor G-forces experienced by your laptop. If there's a sudden increase in G-Force, dropping it for example, this app will stop your HDD and retract its heads so it won't scratch the surface of the HDD's disks. All this is done as fast as it can while your laptop makes its way to the ground for impact.

    This works on the common HDD, but NOT SSD.... because simply SSD is already shock proof to a certain extent. So if your Z us using SSD, you don't need this. If you have traditional HDD, then best to switch it on.
