Ok i was on here the other day asking what laptop to buy, i went for the more expensive one as i was told it had a better graphics card etc.

Anyway, heres the one i bought.

The problem is i have just plugged my laptop into my 1080p samsung TV it finds it and it displays it on my tv and some ATI program pops up, so the picture isnt the best and doesnt take up the whole TV, so i go to the hdmi settings on my laptop and there are 3 options 720 768 and 1080............ i want 1080 but its shadowed out, i cannot click it it, all i can click is the first option!

Can someone explain why this is so? the max resolution on the laptop is 1377x768 on my laptop........ is that the problem? I would really like the 1080p option, the sound comes through my tele etc and it seems great.... but the pic qual aint great.

Cheers for any info! and sorry if theres a quick fix somewhere i have not read

You should select either output to Hdmi or extended to Hdmi.
You can't use same desktop for both laptop LCD and hdmi and having max res to hdmi.
    Hope this help

wahooooooooooo!!! fixed it thanks to you guys! what you have to do farshad xp is what they said, plug in your hdmi lead, press FN and then F7 and keep pressing f7 until you get to the 4th option of projector only......... then you get the picture just on your tv and the 1080p option is availiable on your laptop now!

Only thing is the picture looks really really bright and hurts my eyes a little, so i changed the resolution down a level, still think its using 1080p and its ok now!
