I was wondering if the Sony VAIO FZ-model I'm about to purchase will be able to play Blu-ray movies on the following television screen: the Pioneer 504 HDE Plasma TV (click).

I'm not worrying about the television's capacities, but I am concerned that this screen (50 inch diagonal) is simply 'too big' for this vaio too handle if you know what I mean.

    Hence my question:
Will a Sony VAIO FZ-model notebook with the specs below be able to fluently play for instance a Blu-Ray disk movie on a 50 inch external monitor?

The main specs of the FZ:
    Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 (2.4Ghz; 3Mb L2 Cache; 800Mhz FSB)
    320GB S-ATA 5400RPM Harddisk
NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GS; total Available Graphics Memory of 1023MB and dedicated Video Memory of 256MB
    Blu-ray drive & HDMI out

The screens' physical size is never too big for any machine to handle. its the resolution that matters and that also doesnt depend on the vaio but on the graphics chip inside it. in your case you have got a nice powerful 8600m GS which should easily handle these high quality videos. you can connect it to the display provided you have HDMI and/or DVI. i dont think this screen can go farther than 1920p in any case, which the nVidia can handle like marshmallow
