One day, my vaio c notebook just stopped recognizing the battery. I've had my notebook for about a year and a half now. It's just saying that "no battery is detected." I tried powering the notebook up unplugged, but no luck. Whenever I am at home, I keep the notebook plugged in with the battery in it. Think that maybe the problem? I bought a two year warranty for this vaio so I called sony care about my problem. And they told me that the battery is not part of the warranty because it is "consumable". What should I do? Should I just buy a new one? i think they're like 200 bucks or something.

Sounds like you do need another battery. Search the net, there are 3rd party batteries resellers, with good warranty.

    cheers ...
