hi ppl. hope you can help me, my friend spilt some ribena on my keyboad not a lotbut enough to cover some keys. in particular( space, m n < j k l and d) i have tried cleaning it with a damp cloth but the keys are remaining sticky. the laptop is functioning correctly as i dont think anything actually went inside. I am also quite wary that the touchpad may be affected but it cant be right? no liquid went on it?.
Should i claim through my house contents insurance, or is there a way i can avoid this.
Can i remove individual keys, or can i remove the whole keyboard? i cannot find any info for this.
    please help me thankyou :(

to remove the keyboard, try checking the manual on how to upgrade the memory. I'm not familiar with the model, but some require one to open the keyboard through the screw on the back (usually single screw). There will also be some latch on the keyboard used to hold the keyboard. you can delicately (use small flat screwdriver) to remove the latch. After that, the keyboard should have some ribbon connector to the motherboard which can be removed and installed easily.

regarding removing the keyboard keys, you should be able to do this as well. In my old laptop, I can just pull the keys, since they use those "scissors" mechanism. Just be caeful and stop if it seems there's too much resistance. Re installing is not too hard either. Just push the keys in back. I've done this on my old sony laptop which was doused with coffee. I had to clean the keyboard with alcohol to remove the coffee stench before I brought it for repair.

Check this thread. Now keep in mind that this is for the S series. However, regarding the latch and keyboard ribbon, it should be similar.
