I broke the sony touchpad cable while removing the metal alloy casing... I want to know if there is any way to fix it myself.... So sorry that I broke the cable myself.... the cable got cut just at the point where the bus is inserted into the motherboard.

Please help me with information if someone really knows how to fix this.... (sob sob)

I do not want to give to sony because they charge excessively for the laptop repairs.

=== To give you a history of my sony ===
My Sony Vaio VGN-A29GP died after 3 years of usage. Now it is not under warantee and Sony wants $850 for repairing it (they dont even seem to be knowing what kind of problem it is !!). I could buy a new laptop for that cost !

So, I tried out a lot of options -
    - memory checking with memtest86 passed
    - ubuntu live would not load from cd drive
    - puppy OS works from the RAM

It is important to note that the cd drive died an year ago, but i did not replace it.

The laptop does not even boot from the usb drive and my bios configuration cannot be changed to do such booting.

so, finally, I decided to try removing the harddisk myself and wanted to check if harddisk was working OK or not. And maybe I could install Windows XP after that.

In the process, I broke the touchpad cable - which i want to replace now.
