Im guessing by the UK model number you are in the UK?
If you go to the uk sony support site:
http://www.vaio-link.com
and put in your model number you will get to the downloads page. Here you will find 2 zip files - one containing all the drivers drivers and one containing all the programs.
They each have installers but the data is in an unreadable format. Let it install everything and you should be ok. (I think there are lots of installers to install them in order)
I havent tried this restore method so let me know how it goes. -
Doesn't necessarely mean he lives in the UK. I for one, am Belgian, and also have the FE11M. It's a European model.
I also am in the process of a clean install on this model and am experiencing the exact same problems. System hangs after shutdown after installing camera. This issue has been spoken of by American users as well. I have seen a hotfix for their model and hope it will work on mine.
Will keep y'all posted. -
Everything is now working great and smoothly except for the freeze when shutting down. This is probably due to the camera, but the American hotfix doesn't work due to language issues. Haven't been able to find a Dutch one yet

hey mate how did u get the audio workig?!?!?!
-
Before installing the audio driver you first have to manually istall the "UAA High Definition Audio Class Driver". You can find it in the audio folder.
After installing it, you shouldn't have any problems installing the regular audio driver. Be sure to ignore the "new hardware" messages. Just install the drivers. -
i downloaded all tthe drivers of sonys site but i dont have one called that...

ps: metalinc i added u to my msn, maybe we can talk?
