How to clean LCD so that it is just like new (LIKE from factory)?

I have FS series with XBrite screen. There are few dirts there. I want to clean it, so I bought LCD cleaner from CompUSA (3M). The cleaner is like wet-small papertower. After I cleaned it, **** it is dirtier. I mean the screen is clean now, but the towel left residue from its chemical (you know chemical might left residue like rainbow color)... so I am pretty upset now.

I went back to CompUSA, buy another cleaning kits (MEMOREX and KINGSTON). Don't help. They do same things. I read the kits it said, non-abbrassive, which is good. but why??

Anyone can advise what to use? I want to clean it so that my screen is just like new coming out fresh from factory. Solid shiny black. What I have now is: screen with chemical residue from the towel. **** IT.

Clean water and a microfiber cloth is the best way to go if you ask me. Use an alcohol swab for tough spots.

#100 or finer sand paper works great! :)

But seriously, I agree about the microfiber cloth. And optical cleaning solution. If you go to the Costco optics depmt, they have a good deal with two large microfiber cloths, and cleaning solution with free refills for about $5.

They make kits with a cloth and cleaning solutions. I have the Monster one. It works well.

Be careful with those cleaning solutions. I heard of somebody who cleaned their screen and got too much liquid on it. The liquid wicked around the edge of the screen and got inside the LCD. This wasn't a Sony XBRITE, but still .. I wouldn't use anything more than a damp cloth. You can get the microfiber cloths in any eyeglass store.

If you spay just a little bit on the cloth not the screen, you'll be in good shape.
